NATURAL HISTORY
Moonstone is a type of Feldspar** that diffracts light giving it a luminous look. The ancient Romans considered moonstone to be solidified moonlight. The most valued moonstone is pale blue or gray, but it comes in many colors including pink, brown and yellow.

It can be cleaned with plain water and a soft cloth. If it gets scratched, take it to a jeweler to have it polished out.
Charge your moonstone in the light of of the waxing moon and keep it out of direct sunlight.
WARNINGS
Feldspars like moonstone contain aluminum which should not be ingested. However, tumbled moonstone is safe to wear as jewelry and hold in the hand, even for long periods. It is also safe to use to make gemstone elixirs using an entire tumbled stone that will be removed. It should not be crushed and added to elixers, however. Always wear a mask and take care not to inhale the dust when grinding and engraving moonstone.
