In order to sell the benefits of its new and highly anticipated streaming video service Paramount+, ViacomCBS has launched an ambitious campaign that will culminate next Sunday with a 60-second spot broadcast during the Super Bowl broadcast. In the spot, a plethora of "celebrities" climb the iconic mountain with the Paramount+ logo until they reach the top. Parading through the advertisement are Patrick Stewart, Gayle King, DJ Khaled and Jeff Probst as well as animated characters such as Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob SquarePants and Beavis and Butt-Head. Those who make their way through the Paramount+ announcement all have something in common: their shows, series and movies will be available starting March 4 on this new batch of streaming service.

In the spot , signed by the agency Droga5, the production company O Positive Films and the director David Shane, Paramount+ uses an apt metaphor (that in its bowels there is a real mountain of entertainment) to try to add users to its ranks.
The filming of the advertisement ran into multiple obstacles: restrictions associated with COVID-19, script changes, and celebrities permanently entering and leaving the initial filming plan. Finally, Paramount+ filmed the characters that take part in the spot individually (and in some cases remotely) and then the editors were responsible (thanks to digital magic) for everyone to come together to celebrate the premiere of Paramount+ at the top of the company's mythical logo.
